Case Study: Entertainment Economy Institute
The Entertainment Economy Institute conducted the most expansive and accurate study ever performed on the economics of the entertainment industry, and needed support in modeling and designing a Geodatabase, integrating data from multiple sources, and later building a custom web-based interface for publishing study results.

The Problem
EEI needed help in modeling and developing a single database that integrated data from over 10 major original sources of information on the Entertainment industry. Because they were highly focused on location-based trends, EEI wanted to store their information in a Geodatabase, preserving spatial relationships in the data. Finally, EEI wanted an easy way to publish their data to a broad audience via web-based tools.

The Solution
Placebase consulted with EEI to design and implement an exhaustive research Geodatabase documenting total production output, labor market indicators, trends in job growth, shooting activity, expenditures, wages and workforce participation. The database was used in research, and later Placebase also developed a web-based interface to query the database, showing maps and charts documenting conditions in the industry.
